Reminder - Astro After Dark Tomorrow (Tuesday, January 28!)

6:30pm-8:30pm, with live music from North Branch!!

Hi Everyone,

Just a quick reminder that the next Astro After Dark is tomorrow, Tuesday the 28th at Borelli’s Pizza on Lawrence in Lincoln Square!

I’m also super excited to announce that North Branch will be providing live music during the demo hour from 6:30-7:30pm! They are an awesome folk trio - you can hear a preview of some of their great stuff on instagram! https://www.instagram.com/reel/C4BU9lmrDj1/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link

Then from 7:30-8:30pm I’ll give a science talk with Q&A titled: Great Balls of Ice: Pluto and the Moons of the Outer Solar System (and their potential for harboring life!)

Finally, there’s a chance it will clear up tomorrow evening, so I’ll bring a small telescope just in case and we can have a look at Jupiter and Mars (and if it isn’t too late, Saturn and Venus) after the talk!

So in sum, the evening Schedule:

  • 6:30pm-7:25pm: Hands on (adult and kid-friendly) Astronomy demonstration and activities with LIVE MUSIC FEATURING NORTH BRANCH!

  • 7:30pm-8:30pm: Science Talk with space images, followed by Q&A

  • 8:30pm-9:00pm: Planet or Moon viewing (weather permitting)

Sorry for the lateness of the email, but I hope I get to see some of y’all tomorrow!

All the best,

Luke
